Find Your Innovation Track
Different ideas can shape the future in different ways. Where does yours belong?
What is an Innovation Track?
Innovation Tracks help you identify the primary direction of your idea—not put boundaries around what you can explore.
Every NxGen High School submission is entered under one primary Innovation Track. The Tracks help organize projects around different ways innovation can influence fashion and the industries connected to it.
Many ideas naturally cross disciplines. A technology project may also address sustainability. A business idea may be rooted in culture. A product may create social impact. Interdisciplinary thinking is encouraged.
Choose the Track that best represents the main purpose and direction of your idea.
Business & Brand Innovation
Rethink how fashion businesses, brands, retailers, and organizations operate, grow, and connect with people.
This Track is for ideas exploring the business and communication side of fashion. Your project might investigate new business models, entrepreneurship, branding, marketing, retail innovation, consumer experiences, e-commerce, services, community building, or new market opportunities.
The idea does not need to be an existing company. You might identify a problem or opportunity and propose a new way for a brand, business, platform, or organization to respond.
Prompt : How could fashion do business differently?
Technology & Product Innovation
Explore how new products, technologies, tools, materials, or systems could change what fashion can do.
This Track is for ideas that use product thinking or technology to address an opportunity or challenge connected to fashion.
Projects might explore new products, digital tools, platforms, materials, production approaches, wearable concepts, consumer technologies, systems, or other practical innovations.
You do not need to build a fully working product or advanced prototype. What matters is being able to communicate what your idea does, why it matters, and how it could develop.
Prompt: What could you create that doesn't exist today—or make work better?
Culture, Sustainability & Social Innovation
Explore how fashion can respond to people, communities, culture, society, and the world around us.
This Track is for ideas examining fashion through culture, sustainability, community, accessibility, inclusion, education, environmental responsibility, social challenges, or positive impact.
Projects can question existing practices, preserve or reinterpret cultural perspectives, address environmental or social concerns, or propose new ways for fashion to create meaningful change.
Prompt: How could fashion make a difference beyond what we wear?
