What Do I Need to Submit?
Your NxGen submission has two required components: an Innovation Proposal and a Video Presentation.
Your Innovation Proposal is the primary written presentation of your idea. It should clearly identify your proposed innovation and give the Jury enough information to understand the idea and its purpose.
Your Video Presentation gives you another way to explain your innovation, demonstrate your understanding, and communicate aspects of the project that benefit from direct explanation.
You may also include optional Supporting Visual Materials when they help the Jury understand your idea more clearly.
What Should My Innovation Proposal Include?
Start with the idea. Help us understand what you want to change, create, improve, or explore—and why it matters.
There is no single formula for an NxGen Innovation Proposal. Depending on your idea, you might explore the problem, opportunity, need, or question you identified; explain your proposed innovation and how it could work; identify who it could serve; and consider what makes your approach different.
As you develop your proposal, think about how your idea developed, what you discovered or learned along the way, and what impact or future potential it could have.
You are not required to organize your Proposal using prescribed section headings or address these ideas in a particular order. For team projects, the Proposal may reflect the team's collective development and thinking.
For 2026–2027, your Innovation Proposal may contain up to 8 content pages, plus 1 Cover Page and up to 2 Reference Pages.
How Should I Present My Idea on Video?
Explain your innovation in your own way. Clear thinking matters more than professional production.
Your required Video Presentation may be up to 3 minutes long. You can speak directly to the camera or use slides, sketches, prototypes, demonstrations, screen recordings, voice-over, or other approaches that help explain your idea.
The video should complement your written Proposal rather than simply repeat it.
Professional equipment, advanced editing, animation, or cinematic production is not required and does not independently provide a judging advantage. The Jury is interested in your ideas, understanding, reasoning, and communication.
The Video Presentation should be presented in English. If another language is used, accurate English subtitles must be provided.
Can I Include Supporting Visuals?
Yes. Use supporting visuals when they help someone understand your idea more clearly.
Optional Supporting Visual Materials can include sketches, diagrams, prototype images, mock-ups, process documentation, research visuals, or other relevant visual evidence.
You can also incorporate photographs, illustrations, diagrams, charts, tables, prototypes, or mock-ups directly into the eight content pages of your Innovation Proposal.
Supporting materials should supplement your Proposal, not replace it. Include them when they genuinely help communicate something about your idea.
